New to the QA403. I’m looking at the output of the box on my scope and I get the sine wave I expect but also a rapid flashing signal of graduated amplitude at the same time underneath the main plot.
Also the VRMS of the output is not constant as I would expect from a standard sig gen.
Anyone have any idea on what this is and how to stop it???
Try to click on the button idle - same result?
Toggling IDLE did nothing. I played around some more after looking at the other thread. If “RUN” is off and “IDLE” is on you get a clean wave form. And the FFT sample rate changes the waveform underneath. So the bursting is part of the test method.
Now I need to figure out why the input from this vs. my sig gen is blowing the primary fuse on my amp…which the standalone sig gen does not.
Thanks - I did not understand that “RUN” wasn’t necessary to output the sine wave. It’s the simple things.
The fuse was blowing because I was connecting the ground of the input cable to the negative side of the output transformer, causing a short. It is now connected to the chassis and all is good!
