What is maximum frequenz range for a frequency response measurement with the QA403

Good morning,

What is the limit for a correct measurement?

Is it correct by 200 kHz?

@Diskus Andreas, your quote isn’t working. But the frequency reach should be half the sampling frequency, so 96kHz for 192kHz. In addition to that, there are also integration, measurement and display frequency limits set in various places (that I am still trying to figure out myself…).

Hi Diskus and Gruesome, the maximum frequency which can be measured is 1/2 of the sampling frequency (96kHz at 192 kHz sampling rate. In the QA403 spec. sheet (https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1631/5609/files/QA403_Product_Sheet_REVH_February_2022.pdf?v=1645842772) you can see the loopback frequency response of the device (page 20). The frequency response is -0.5dB down at 70kHz. The frequency response depends not only on the DAC output resp. ADC input stage but also on the digital filter settings of the ADC and probably the DAC. This can be seen on page 19 of the spec. sheet where the loopback frequency response shows a very small peaking of +0.02dB around 20kHz for 48kHz sampling rate. This peak and the small ripple are normal for digital decimation filters and is only seen if you zoom in on the y-axes. I suggest you do a loopback test to see the exact frequency response behaviour of your unit with 48kHz, 96kHz and 192kHz sampling frequencies. This should not be to far away from the spec. sheet.
