I want to measure input headroom at 1Khz how many dBUs does a measuring device such as an isolator have to do?
Hi @jumpod, I’m not sure I understand the question. A good way to determine headroom of an amp is to plot distortion versus amplitude, and you’ll see the distortion increase suddenly at some point due to (usually) supply rail limitations. And knowing the limit, you can then back off from that limit depending on your source material demands.
