Substitute the QA472 Low Noise Mic Preamp?

Hello,

at this time it is difficult to get the QA472 Low Noise Mic Preamp in Germany/Europe.

It is possible to combine an other Mic Preamp with the QA403 (do you have experience with certain devices from other manufacturers).

What should you consider when adjusting the level of a different preamp?

Please don’t be angry about my maybe stupid questions….

It depends what you want to measure and what the budget is. I’m personally using a QA472 but I know several people who use the img Stage Line / Monacor MPA-102 for measuring e.g. loudspeakers. This alternative preamp offers gain setting in 5dB steps, is available from Monacor or Thomann and I don’t see any reason why it will not make a good mic front end for the QA403.

Hi @Diskus, you can always order the QA472 directly from US. But @AVO is correct, the amp demands for a mic front end for measuring speakers isn’t that rigorous.
