ASIO driver with Smaart Software

I tried the QA403(ASIO) with Smaart, and it works great. There is no control of the attenuation of course, but It seems to be at max att (?) I did not want to run both Smaart and 401X at the same time. Here is the noise floor comparison:

Hi @alprada, thanks for the report. Do you think both apps are at +42 dBV full scale input? If that’s the case, then your -75.33dBu = -73.11 dBV, which is then 73.11 + 42 = -115 dBFS. They should be much closer than that. Maybe both weren’t in +42 dBV for the test? If you re-do, set both measurements to 0 dBV full scale input.

PS. Is anyone using Smaart or other for live sound dBSPL reporting?

Here are the measurements with matching settings (0 dBu / 48k / 32 FFT and 10 AVG), the previous PICS were mismatched settings (just to show that the 403 worked with Smaart)
There is about 10 dB difference on the noise floor. I would assume Smaart is OFF, or a setting that needs to be changed?

Hi @alprada, thanks! When time permits can you set both apps to show power (eg RMS from 20 to 20 kHz)?

I dont see any settings for RMS on Smaart, it only has Average dept 1 - 10 , fast, slow. and SPL Fast, slow, peak and the frequency Weighting.

I have just tested it with Smaart v9 and AMFG

Logging SPL vs time

Hi @alprada, OK, understood. I don’t think there’s going to be a way to compare then as the SPL and RMS are different things. The LAeq numbers in AFMG indicate A weighting and time-weighting.

Are you doing live sound SPL monitoring?
