Looking to learn about ErinH's test setup

Can someone provide a little more info on what is going on with Erin’s test setup? I’m new to the site and couldn’t find a thread that refers to it in this forum or DIYAudio and am not sure where to find out more. I’m curious about it as I believe he uses it in conjunction with the QA403? I could be wrong.

Looks like he is adding capacitance and inductance to his resistive load to better simulate driving a speaker perhaps?

Yes, I believe that is what he said. Would he be able to mimic the impedance curve of speaker without using the speaker to see how the amplifier behaves at difference voltage levels? I guess he could add crossovers as well to see how it reacts in the crossover region? I see why he said testing equipment is a lot more work than testing the speakers…

Class-D amplifiers, in particular, historically have noticeable (audible) load impedance dependencies and measuring an amp with a simulated speaker load (or any good reactive load) makes really good sense. I remain convinced that’s one reason I hated class-d for a very long time while it ‘measured so well’.
