I’ve been using the QA403 as the measurement front end for a series of guitar-pedal videos, together with custom Python visualization software I wrote called LiveHarmScope.
LiveHarmScope uses the ASIO401 driver for real-time acquisition from the QA403, allowing me to display both channels live while measuring the pedal input and output waveforms and harmonic content.
In this video I use that setup to demonstrate harmonic distortion, THD, how the harmonic structure changes with Drive and input level, and how two pedals with similar THD can still have different harmonic distributions.
This is one part of a broader workflow I’ve been developing around the QA403. In other videos I’ve also used the QA403 REST API for automated measurements and data collection, along with plots and measurements generated using the QA40x software.
I thought some people here might be interested in seeing the QA403 used for guitar-pedal characterization and real-time visualization.
