I have done everything you mention and still not able to install

Where do you get in the process? Have you unblocked the file? When you double-click the .application file to run it exactly what happens? Do you get the install warning?

Have you tried downloading the entire program from github.io and running the executable manually or the .application file from the root of the folder?

I took a longer look at the error and most of the install seems to work fine but the Launcher will not install due to an access error. Are you an administrator on this computer or are you instead using a ‘user’ account? Or maybe something is running in the background that owns that registry key/folder like an antivirus?

Does the QA403 need to be connected to the computer in order for the program to download?

No, it doesn’t check for the qa40x until you actually run a test in the application. Do you have an earlier installation (from 8 months ago?). That could be interfering with the install, maybe.

I come back to the following. Please:

  1. if you have an old version of QA40xPlot or Joost Breed’s original app uninstall it.

  2. ensure you have installed .NET 9

  3. turn off any 3rd party antivirus or additional security applications

if all of these fail then

  1. copy the folder at MZachmann.github.io to your C drive (somewhere) and try to run from there

If all of these fail, please describe the sequence of failure (what you click and what happens on-screen).

One last thing - the program is compiled for x64 only so you must be running a 64 bit processor. This is not a requirement but I do this for performance reasons.

I have done all of the things you mention and still not running. I have a couple friends that are computer guru’s and I will have them check it out.

Ok, I’m sorry this doesn’t seem to be working for you. I’ve done a fair amount of research and nothing matches up with your issues other than Antivirus interference or a serious failure in your ClickOnce repository (which we have no control over).

In an attempt to help out I’ve downloaded the current build folder to a folder I own (there is no way to attach a file to the forum). If you go to https://dnsproxy.com/Files/QA40xPlot_1_2_6.zip it will download the current build as a zipped folder.

Unzip the folder to anywhere on your hard drive then you can run the QA40Plot.exe file directly. The first time you run it will warn you that the file is blocked and you can unblock it. The .application file won’t run as far as I know so no automatic updates. If this works, at least we know you can run the program.
