Mask for pass/fail - usage and subject matter training suggestions

I am working on an amplifier that I want to create some pass/fail tests for. I have never used mask files before, so I wonder if there are any guidelines or getting started guides that I could read up on as someone who has never used this feature before, on any platform.

Hi @tspacker, it’s best to let the software create the masks for you. If you are building for production testing, you might test 5-10 amplifiers for frequency response using the AMP Frequency Response Chirp plug-in. And then, in the graph tool do a Trace->Export Mask and adjust the statistical significance you’d like to see. And then export that mask. The link below goes into more detail. The software has changed, so some areas might be a bit different.

If you use the graph tool, you need to have at least 3 runs for it to be able to generate and export a mask.

Give it a try and holler if you get stuck. The second link is some more background that will help with setting mask statistical limits. And if you don’t need a mask that is hugging your data, you can always handcode a mask file if you are looking for a simple response curve that is, say, +/- 0.5 dB
