My QA403 stopped connecting to the QuantAsylum software in Windows 10 - was working previously. The software just says “Connect the QA403…” in orange. I’ve tried all the USB ports - same issue. I’ve tried re-booting/power off/on. I originally had issues getting started and replaced my powered USB with another one recommended by one of your users. That worked for awhile. What should I see in the device manager and how do I get this going again! Very annoying.
I noticed that other users have had similar issues with unclear fixes. Please assist.
It would helpful if the unit had an external power input and eliminate some of the powered hub issues. I am starting to think that the best thing to do is modify the QA403 to have an external power input so any USB hub could be used. It would also be helpful if there were specific manufacturer recommendations for powered USB hubs.
I seemed to have figured this out. It seems that the hub I have will choose to supply power to the hub A ports from the either the USB-B port or the external power input depending on which one is plugged in first. If the USB-B port is plugged in first it then tries to supply power from that port and consequently depends on the upstream device for power which is a problem. If the external power supply is plugged in first it chooses the higher capacity source and things start working.
Once again an external power input to the QA403 would simplify setup and eliminate these type of issues.
Hi @rmod, isn’t it effectively the same? You have an external supply and you plug it into a hub, and then run the QA403 from that. Or you have an external supply and you plug it into the QA403. And that then plug the QA403 into your laptop.
The big benefit I see to an external AC supply (using a 3 prong plug) is you get a rock solid ground. And there are time that it’d be nice to click a button in the app and ground-lift or ground the isolated part of the QA403.
