I just inherited a QA403 box that a former co-worker used to use when he was here. I set the box up and installed the software. When I start the software, I see the splash screen for just a second, and then it closes.
I tried running QA40x from the command line with the -L flag and here’s what I get:
Logging started.

Version: 1.209

Can you look inside MyDocs\QuantAsylum\QA40x and see if you have some directories in there? And if so, look in the UserWeighting and see if there are some files in there?
And if you go back to release 1.202 and delete (or rename) the MyDocs\QuantAsylum\Qa40x directory before running, does it come up and run?
I’m not sure what happened, but I tried switching to the latest pre-release version to see if maybe a bug that had been fixed might have been the problem. That didn’t work, so I switched back to the latest released version, and now it works fine. I’m not sure why the latest released version didn’t work on the first install, but now I have no problem any longer.
Hi @jeff.audiocontrol, I see the problem. In release 1.209 you can see a change where File->New Settings would force a 48k sample rate.
If you have never run the app before and you run 1.209 first, then when the settings was created the 48k sample rate was applied but nothing was connected (because the default assumes a QA402) and so it generated an exception and the app closed.
And then if you ran 1.202, the settings file was created OK. And you are able to tell it you have a QA403 and it works. And then you go back to 1.209 and it can load the file last used settings file no problem.
In any case, thanks very much for reporting this with the log data too as that was key to understanding. This will be fixed for 1.210. For those trying to solve before 1.210 is released, get everything working on 1.202 first and then update to the latest pre-releases.
