I have been having a problem with an Automated Test settings that I saved not loading they way that I saved them. Most recently I have been using the Amp Dynamics Automated Test for measuring amp headroom and had saved the settings within the test. These are the settings that I had saved a week or so ago:
Hi @VAR, the Setting File that will be loaded is the same file that you can load from File->Load Settings in the main window. So, things like Sample Rate, FFT size.
I just created a settings file with a 192k sample rate, and it was automatically loaded as I specified before running a plug-in.
Each Plug-in also has the ability to load/save its settings from the local file menu. This should let you save a few different configs for the AmpDynamics plug-in, for example. However, I see a quirk that is probably the source of your problem. When you edit the AmpDynamics settings, the settings that are saved aren’t the new settings you just edited. They are the last settings run.
So, for now, you will need to run the test AND THEN re-open the test and save the settings (weird, yes). I will aim to get this fixed for the next release. Can you confirm this is what you are seeing? Thanks for reporting!
@matt- I will play around with this later today. I did notice that the settings I wanted would show up as the defaults I wanted when I ran the test the next day (PC shut down at night). But the next time the settings were as i showed them in the video. When I try it today I will set up my settings if they are not shown, run the test, close the test, re-open the test and save the settings. One question I have is that are any automated test settings saved along with the normal main window File>save or does loading the automated test setting pull up all the settings under the current main window ?
UPDATE- @matt I just tried recalling the automated test settings I had saved the other day and did not have any luck- even after shutting down and re-starting the program- it was stuck with the settings I just ran with today. I tried loading a couple of the other amp dynamics settings that has been saved previously and nothing changed…?
@matt- have you had a chance to look the saving/loading of automated test settings since these posts? It still does not recall them, even doing what you suggested… Thanks
Are you seeing this for all automated test settings, or just a few of the automated tests? If you save a new setting and then try to recall it later does that work? It could be that if you have an old setting and the options for that test have recently changed, it can’t be loaded any more until you re-save. I’ll look at too
@matt- it does not recall any of my saved setups for any of the automated test plugins that I use. I typically have a saved THD test setup for say Amp Output impedance that I start with to make sure things are working normally, and then go to automated tests and load the Amp Output Impedance test and load my automated test setting from within that for the settings I want for that automated test, which are pretty standard for me. The worst is the amp dynamics since there is much more to change. If I run the test the next day it will often come up with the settings that I used before (same for any other automated test), but eventually it will come up with defaults for the automated tests…Thanks for checking into this
